I Ain’t Afraid

It felt like it was all over
They told me that all hope’s lost
But on the sky that looked like a midnight blue
His light shone on me
And his glory arose upon me
I ain’t afraid !

God’s my Buckler
God’s my Shield
What shall I fear ?
With Jesus on my side
With my Savior on my back
I ain’t afraid !

People may mock and tease
Scoffers may laugh with contempt
I will not abandon my salvation
I’ll pray and believe
I’ll keep my focus on the everlasting Rock
I ain’t afraid !

Every morning I meditate his Word
All night long I think of his goodness
He is my strength and my song
I find delight in his percepts
And abundant comfort in his promises
I ain’t afraid !
